Trained in Dentistry in Dublin qualifying in December 1962.

Having worked in General Dental Practice for three years as an assistant he set up his own practice in Gravesend in Kent. After some years his interest in Orthodontics led to taking his Primary fellowship leading to studying Orthodontics at the Royal Dental Hospital in London in 1973.

He set up Orthodontic Practice in both Gravesend and Maidstone in Kent in 1974 / 75.   Being very overworked he decided to concentrate on the Gravesend Practice where he worked until October 2003 when he retired to undertake an Open University course in something completely different ...Geology.   After one year he decided that while enjoying the change it involved spending too much time with his 'head-in-a book.' He returned to practice in January 2005 and now splits his time between Redhill Orthodontic Practice and his old Practice in Gravesend.
